Look around, as they might be among us

"The Inhumans" was supposed to be the final film in the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but Marvel Studios removed it from its lineup. Some would blame it on internal politicking, but they might not be watching "Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D. ". (Yes, MCU wasn't confined to the big screen.) The third season of this TV series would feature Kree's experiments. In case you're unfamiliar with the Marvel comics, it could provide details on how the Inhumans came into existence. This would prompt Marvels fans to ask questions.

Will there be a Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? You're a fool to bet against it, as the answer is crystal clear after the release of "The Avengers". The celluloid version of "The Inhumans" may not be shown on 2019, but don't discount a 2020 playdate. This will lead to the next question.

Isn't "Agents of S. H. I. E. L . D" supposed to be a supplementary to the Marvel films? Without a doubt. Screening time isn't an issue in television, so Marvel fans can expect to see a faithful adaptation of "The Inhumans" on the small screen. No one can tell what the film version of "The Inhumans" will be all about, but the premise might be based on the latest issue of "The Inhumans" comics. (More on that later.) Back to the TV series, the introduction of the Inhumans would be opposite to what Marvel Studios had envisioned of the show. Let Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, and Stan Lee deal with it. And then the final question.

Why include the Inhumans in the MCU? Good question. There are many reasons, some of which would be debated among Marvel fans. Let's narrow it down to three:

The Inhumans can fill the void left by the X-Men. An ideal adaptation would be the Avengers working along the X-Men, and their respective villains ganging up on them. Sadly, it won't happen. 20th Century Fox may be adamant on holding on this franchise. The (Fox) producers have something to prove to the X-Men fans. And they might want to redeem themselves after the dismal performance of "Fantastic Four" last year. All is not lost, though. Think of the Inhumans as mutants from another planet. They rather not live with humans, as some have superpowers they hardly control. And mankind fear what they couldn't understand. A mouth-watering premise, don't you think?

The history of the Inhumans will remind readers, and viewers, about the history of human civilization. It began in the planet Uranus, when Kree saw a potential in another planet. (You don't need a minute to figure it out.) He thought of creating superhumans that could fight the Skrull Empire, a race of extraterrestrial shapeshifters. However, Kree didn't complete his experiment after hearing a prophecy about him and the Skrull Empire. It didn't matter, as the Inhumans came into their own. They followed a strict caste family, ruled by Black Bolt and Medusa. Think of the inhabitants of Atlantis who knew the history of India.

The Inhumans could have their own franchise. Unlike "Guardians of the Galaxy", the Inhumans don't have any place in the MCU. As a matter of fact, Captain America won't ask for their help (to defeat Thanos). And this may be the reason why the big-screen version of "The Inhumans" was scraped off from the lineup. There was much to tell, such that Marvel Studios could create a separate franchise. The recent issue saw the Terrigen Mist spreading across the world. This would give Medusa and her minions an idea on which humans would live in Attilan. (This is the place where the Inhumans live.) And Medusa had too many problems to deal with. These new recruits were at a loss, while their new powers caused destruction in some parts of the world. The world leaders were thinking of declaring war on them until Captain America persuaded them to speak to Medusa on their behalf. And the Unspoken returned to Attilan. He used to be the ruler of this mighty realm until he was forced into exile. He wanted payback.

Are you excited? Look for the latest issue of "The Inhumans". Keep your fingers crossed that Marvel Studios will include this new breed of superhumans in their future lineup.
